Love can bring us the biggest happiness but also be what crushes us. Loving someone who is loving you back is wonderful but that same love has an equal power to hurt us if that person disappoints us, hurt us or worst of all leaves us. But even though love also brings some sadness, we do need to keep loving each other as lovers, friends and family. Hugs from me.

Today I returned from a conference in Stavanger, Norway's oil capital. Unfortunately We did not have any time to see the city itself or thea rea around - all time was spent on lectures and in the hotel. That means of course that I will need to go back another time hehe.
The topic was reading because improving national scores on literacy is a major focus these days here in Norway. From references to American scientists I imagine it is equally a very much debated topic in the States as well - how do we get kids to read more and better? How do we healp those with dyslexia and similar problems. One important topic on one of the lectures was how we ocmmunicate so that is why I chose this painting to represent today. There is such an important difference between talking together with and talking to when we adults either as parents or teachers try to help our struggling young.

I went to work today but had to go home halfway through due to the fever and the headache. I will stay home tomorrow I think and get real well before next week. This has been a very calm day where I have prioritized rest and plenty of liquids. I chose a nice topic today and found it soothing.

These stormy days when the New Year Celebration in China is threatened and people have to stay indoors in Jerusalem because the palms as wel as the whole city is covered in snow, I was inspired to make this painting.
I chose to make it very blended because I did not wantt o make it dramatic. Still we hope that this extreme weather will not become the norm.
This is the third of my larger paintings this year and I'll probably explore the blended effects a bit more. The second one is also a blue blended one.

Been home from work today with a bad cold so this is one that I had fun making earlier this year. First day of not painting for a very long time. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.
