Today is the Nineteenth day of the August challenge

Tribute To a Beautiful Earth
Celebrating and Conserving Our Planet with DailyPainters.com

and I ended up playing around with the story of man being kicked out of Eden. I felt man could use a kick in the butt or similar these days before we also do too many bad choices nowadays and lose the wonderful planet we have. In the end it ended up a more humourous pinch than a kick. I had fun doing it anyway. hehehe

Talking about climatic change we have still two main opinions, manmade or not, and each side tries to convince each other as well as the politicians to act accordingly.

Today is the Tenth day of the August challenge

Tribute To a Beautiful Earth
Celebrating and Conserving Our Planet with DailyPainters.com

Today's abstract painting is inspired by an old philosophical riddle :

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?"

and an ecological version of it.

If a Tree Falls in the Forest, and No One Is Around to Hear It, Does Climate Change?

Unfortunately we tend to turn our backs both on the future generations needs as well as the challenges of today, and my painting today is an abstract made because I feel sad that we do not all work together towards saving our planet.

Often when we talk or think about the enourmous challenges our planet faces we desper.
Recent science and climatic change already happening tell us that in fact it is already too late - what we do now is to try to reduce the disaster. We already have ruined so much of the ecology and polluted so much, we have already endangered so many species and got used to a life style that can not be sustained by the planet. We have to start building to save so many inhabited places that are low lying. It can sometimes lead to desperation.

Whenever we talk or think about sustainability we have to think about both past and future generations. We, this generation both suffer some results of bad decisions made by earlier generation as well as having stopped using more ecological ways of using this Earth when producing things. In addition the reason why we have to do something now is future generations - our children. grandchildren and so on.

and my painting today is an abstract inspired by the fact that we are borrowing this planet from our kids as well as having inherited it from our ancestors.

I started a new series today and hope you will like it. It combines a very very simplistic form with me trying to show a relationship and dynamic movement even with such limited use of shape and colour and other effects.

I find working towards my goal in life pretty hard some days and many a day I feel less in control than I would like to. Wouldn't we all love it if the help-yourself-books and similar were as easy roads towards being happy and content as each guru tries to tell us it is - if only we do as he or she tells us. Weight loss is one of my hardest challenges. Well, tomorrow is another Monday and another week. Wish me luck. I wish all readers struggling with something the very best of luck this coming week.

Tonight there is this big dance and party outdoor summer event locally but I must admit that after having spent all of yesterday in a funeral that partying was very far from my wishes tonight. I can even hear the bass from the band still through my walls and it is 1 am. I will be among the happy ones tomorrow morning due to no hangover though.

I painted this one as a contrast to "Pink Beast". It is not meant to be a certain species and to be frank I kind of see it sometimes as a bird and sometimes as a prehistoric species. As usual it is the feeling or emotion and expression that matters the most to me and I therefore prefer my subjects to be non-realistic and non-species specific. For the same reason most of my figures have only indicated some facial expressions because I do not want to show a specific human being but more a specific human emotion or experience. I like body language because it is so expressive. I hope to continue to develope using this kind of ways to express things. That leads me into studying cartooning as well as oriental art because both use non photorealistic ways of expression. I hope you enjoy those works of mine.

Today has been a day of pouring rain outside and taking the day off and read indoors. This lady could represent the dreams of many a young girl (as well as many a grown one hehehe) . The prinsess or mermaid dream. Or it could be a commentary - what do you think?
