This seascape is gorgeous, but it is quite a change from the artist's equally lovely blue on blue seascapes. The islands and the land are well placed, in my opinion, but what draws me in is the the use of varying shades of its unexpected, very different from blue, single and highly pleasing color. The artist has used the same color in shades ranging from almost black to almost white, which she has done so beautifully with some of her blue on blue paintings. I very much would like to see this painting hung near one of her blue on blue works, that has a similar wide variation in the shades of its single color!

For some reason I am drawn towards painting in monochrome or only with a few colours.
