An Art Work A Day

I try very much to live my life to the fullest, meaning that I want to be very much present in the moments. I want to know like today that all in all I have seen 4 bumblebees this year and 3 butterflies (one blue and two yellow).



I want to see spring arriving inch by inch and noticing bird singing and flying from one tree to another. I want to notice the flies and the otehr insects too, even the different spiders.


In short I want to be THERE in the moments. Too much of my life I ran around multitasking so much both practically and inside my head to make things go round for me and my kids that I lost the moments. I'm relearning to do that.

Also it is so true that being an artist is much more the seeing than the doing.
I hope you will enjoy with me the wonders of life I have captured here.
Today I raked away loads of marple leaves and allowed the beginnings of daffodils some air. It then only too hours before this freed snack was hit upon by a roedeer looking for a treat. They very much love daffodils. I do not think these will survive untill they bloom.

Today I have been doing something very necessary but which I tend to postpone and postpone and postpone. I have been sorting through papers and receipts and all kinds of reference materials in short all the papery mess that seem to grow exponentially if you do not keep it down regularly. I am a bit proud of myself because I have even defrosted the freezer. hehehe

Tomorrow I plan on doing a much needed sorting and tidying in the basement. There are boxes and bags and similar all over the place with art or art materials. I really need to get a better system.

The weather is still grey grey grey but I went for a walk nevertheless. Well done me. Been very good with diet too.

We are all confused sometimes, the trick is to be able to see through the maze of confusion and find a new way.

lately I have been struggling with insomnia and that makes me feel a bit cunfused sometimes because I get worn out by too litle sleep.

Later I took a short walk and this apple tree totally filled with flowers made me smile.

Finally my arm is good enough for me to feel comfortable painting again. Getting started again is somewhat hard so I'll probably not challenge myself very much with new subjects that much. Well, anyway, that is what I think will happen but LOL my experience on this roller coaster journey of mine into art is that nothing is for sure. Usually I end up doing something else than what I planned. So I have decided to just hang on and enjoy the ride.



















Waiting for Spring to Colour the Land

Making this oil painting I wanted most of all to get my hands on brushes and the smell of oil paint and thinner into my nostrils. Both my kinds are away tonight so I won't disturb any of them with the smell. One thing though is very new in this painting. I only very rarely use browns and except for the sky and the water this is all in browns. The reason; here in Norway spring is arriving slowly and the birds are singing and some bushes show sighs of them being ready to burst into green BUT all in all 99 % of the colours are browns and greys on the ground still with a tiny tussilago farfara here and there on the road side. So this is a spring landscape just waiting to burst into greens again. I might go wild on the greens during Easter LOL
