Every day in the news we see people fighting and killing their former neighbors in civil wars around the globe. Some people think it is natural that people from different etnical, political or religious backgrounds should fight each other.

Fortunately there is also wonderful change to the better in the news. Yesterday during the big Europride parade in Oslo, the capital of Norway, a large group of police joined the parade, not only to support any LGBT police officers but also as a way of symbolizing the massive change from only a few decades ago when they were criminalized and hunted by the police. Being gay was sometimes like a cat and mouse game with the police. Now the police states they are the protectors.   http://www.europride2014.com/?lang=nb/

Today's painting expresses my hope that even relationsships that look impossible can sometimes be possible.

Jeg har i kveld arbeidet med en tekst inspirert av diskusjonene rundt intervjuet av Marte Krogh. Å få barn er nok en utfordring enten man har au pair, vaskehjelp og milliardærsamboer eller ikke.

I'm working this evening with a text inspired by discussions concerning the interview of Marte Krogh last week. Having children is probably quite a challenge whether you have an au pair, cleaner, personal trainer and billionaire boyfriend or not.

In Norway we say that the colour of hope is light green. Hoping is often done together with praying both by the faithful and many who are not, Please help me, we think or pray, sometimes not sure to who or what we address our request. This combined action makes us believe that we increase the chances of success and if we are very unsure of the outcome we convince ourselves that if we do not get what we hope for that too is felt kind of like an answer. Maybe just the thought of someone there to support, the thought of a friendly being, an imagined emphatic being comforts us. At least I think so, because why else do even many of those of us that do not believe in God, kind of pray, to something kind of in our image?

Today I have been doing something very necessary but which I tend to postpone and postpone and postpone. I have been sorting through papers and receipts and all kinds of reference materials in short all the papery mess that seem to grow exponentially if you do not keep it down regularly. I am a bit proud of myself because I have even defrosted the freezer. hehehe

Tomorrow I plan on doing a much needed sorting and tidying in the basement. There are boxes and bags and similar all over the place with art or art materials. I really need to get a better system.

The weather is still grey grey grey but I went for a walk nevertheless. Well done me. Been very good with diet too.

Today came with the perfect Sunday weather. The sun was shining and the sky was blue when I was out walking. It is beautiful with all the snowcovered trees but I must admit I long for some colour now.
