I am nearly done now cataloging and signing and putting contact info etc on every aceo I have in the house. Lots of work especially since I took new photos and cropped and worked them to make them as right and clear as possible which is not always easy with black backgrounds or wet paint. While doing that I came across a few early pastels I made. This is one of them. Kind of cute, in my opinion even if the drawing isn't perfect.

Hi I spent today sighning and cataloging and writing titles and dates etc etc on the back of ACEOs. Incredible how much time that takes. I also tok new photos of many of them. It all took lots and lots of time. The great part is that I found a few aceos that I had forgot I made and I was more happy with them today than when I did them. Here are one of them, the cat and also a new one where I played with textured paper.

Yesterday I showed you a couple of ACEOs made with wax meaning that the medium itself was very thick and tactile to touch. Today I went for the textured surface and began my first proper explorations on the wonderful textured papers I bought in England. I can't wait to show you more. I filled I full A4 box with different thicknesses and textures and colours. Pastel i

When I was in London recently I bought a bar of chinese ink and a winsor & Newton 8 colours set of inks. All of this weekend has been spent playing with these my new toys. Here are the first 3 one I made. All are 2.5"x3.5" ACEOs or ATC (artist trading cards). media is as I said ink only on quality watercolour paper. Price is usually $10 for my aceos. They are not totally original since I used instructional books when painting them. Practicing in this manner is by the way an honored tradition within chinese brush painting.

Today has been kind of rough - I have struggled with sleep for a few nights and I can feel it. I guess I should not complain since there are flu coming this way so general fatigue is way better. I do wish and long for the day when making art is the no 1 job instead of something I do after making a living. Well, my day will come. In a year or so thing will be easier because my kids will probably be able to support themself better. Art is so important for me that I do in fact work two full time jobs, as a teacher and making art. In between I eat and sleep and put the washer on. TV what is that?
