Wow! I really like this painting! I like the concept that a planet like ours is very similar to a living being. Implied in the painting is the fact that like all living things, our earth must be taken care of, protected, and nurtured. The EKG line, showing great activity at the planet's core, makes a wonderful statement that the earth is alive and that the magma at its center is similar to the beat of a heart. This is a wonderful combination of elements that shows that the earth, itself, is, in its own way, as alive as is anything on it.
What is great about this painting is that everyone can have interprete it the way they want.
My daughter saw something I had not thought about - the divide between the rich north and the poor south. That too can be an aspect with this painting.
