I am experimenting a bit these days with making the mounting and things like that be part of the expression. Here is one of the ideas I am playing with - using mounts in different ways.

Blindfolded by Fashion, acrylics on paper 30x41cm
My daughter's comment on seeing this painting was that she would like me to make a series using the topic "blind". Maybe I will if my muse will allow me. Keep visiting my blog or DPgallery and you will get to know.
Today I have spent most time washing and putting out poison to try to get those ants that keep eating on our holiday house. Hopefully there is nobody else eating besides the mice that I saw feces after and the ants that I saw running around. I will travel up there in a few days again and see whether the problem has improved.
Today's painting is another of my social commentary ones.

Conquering, acrylics on acrylics paper 30x41cm
A friend of mine who is a poet said:
" my eyes first glance at the figure......then my eyes quickly scan scenery because i notice faces (especially in the bottom right hand quarter of the painting). for some reason i am really drawn towards that section. i get a strong vibe that the figure is very symbolic. it all seems very spiritual to me. i feel this painting represents braving fears and reaching goals by never losing site of your purpose. "
An artist friend said: "The conquerer is kind of lost, looks more conquered than a winner."
Things like these are what makes working in abstracts so fascinating. The only 3 persons that had seen it had seen so many different things. Imagine how many things a whole group of persons could see . . . . . . :-) As long as people see something, as long as my work starts some kind of reaction then I am happy. It does not have to be positive or what I believed only some kind of reaction. Non interest is the worst that can happen - someone hating the painting is better.

Pink Mermaid, acrylics on canvas panel 18x24cm
Today has been a day of pouring rain outside and taking the day off and read indoors. This lady could represent the dreams of many a young girl (as well as many a grown one hehehe) . The prinsess or mermaid dream. Or it could be a commentary - what do you think?
