My son is visiting this weekend and he is studying aeronautical science to become an airplane mechanic so this painting started its life as "Love Flights". I was not absoluetely sure about this title so any better suggestions was appreciated. Barbara came up with this fantastic poetic title "Blooms in the Hurricane" and I very much appreciated that. You can chose yourself what title suits your interpretation the best. See comments. I thought you viewers as well as I needed something softer, warmer and nicer today than the more hash abstracts I have been posting lately.

I suggest the title "Blooms in the Hurricane" for this painting. The figures look to me like flower blooms that have been torn off of their stems by the hurricane that is carrying the flowers downward in its "eye". I like the way that this painting contrasts the power and turbulence of a tornado and the fear that it inspires, indicated by the painting's darker orange outer area, with the delicacy with which the blooms float downward in a spiral in the storm's beautiful, quiet, delicate gold and orange "eye" or center. Tornadoes or whirlwinds or cyclones, whatever term the viewer wishes to use, are notorious not only for their destructiveness, but also for the quietness of their "eye" and their amazing capability for delicacy that they can show, such as when one pushes a straw into thick wood without even breaking the straw. In my opinion this painting gives an extremely beautiful picture of the amazing things that can happen in the eye of this kind of storm.

I have a feeling that if the viewer sees this painting in the way that the artist wishes it to be seen, it shows a series of couples, each with their head showing, one arm hidden because it is wrapped around his or her lover, and the free arm held out to embrace the world. Seen this way, this is a very warm, positive painting about love, with a series of lovers holding each other and spiraling down through the bright, sunlight colors of happiness to embrace the world, as well as each other. This painting is a very positive one that leads the viewer to believe that someday love will be the predominant human emotion!

Along with my second interpretation of the paintng, I should have included that I would give the painting the title "Tunnel of Love", if I chose that interpretation.
