Today I had a lovely time visiting my daughter in Porsgrunn and seeing her new flat and all the changes at her job. We went out eating and did a bit of shopping hehe incl a bit of girly wine.

LOL I have come in a situation where I have promised to be an exercise buddy for two of my collegues so today too I ended up doing two rounds of walking exercise. I am rather stiff tonight but so happy that my lungs finally would lalow me to do proper exercise again.

For some reasons my abstracts seems to become emotional while my landscapes are usually more meditative and calming in style. For a period now I will work very intensively on my oil painting and post more than one per day. I'll try to post a mix of the abstract and the realistic so that there hopefully will be something for more visitors. What I will end up painting I do not know. Too often the painting seems to control me and not the other way around hehe.

yes, you are right. It is another one of my blue sky paintings. I simply adore the sky in this painting. Finally the last 3 days the clouds and rain went away locally and we have had gorgeous blue skies even with a lovely moon on it this morning when I walked to work (son has car)

I have had a very productive day today JIPPPIIIII and had some fun. This is a painting using chinese ink which I ground on my lovely ink stone (meditation for stressed out artists :-)). Using shuen paper which is medium absorbant I had some control but still the paper did it's magic. I was very happy myself with this one because I felt I mastered a bit more to use variations of keeping the brush dry or wet.

This one I will frame and put out on the guild exhibition next month if it is not sold before that.

Finally my arm is good enough for me to feel comfortable painting again. Getting started again is somewhat hard so I'll probably not challenge myself very much with new subjects that much. Well, anyway, that is what I think will happen but LOL my experience on this roller coaster journey of mine into art is that nothing is for sure. Usually I end up doing something else than what I planned. So I have decided to just hang on and enjoy the ride.



















Waiting for Spring to Colour the Land

Making this oil painting I wanted most of all to get my hands on brushes and the smell of oil paint and thinner into my nostrils. Both my kinds are away tonight so I won't disturb any of them with the smell. One thing though is very new in this painting. I only very rarely use browns and except for the sky and the water this is all in browns. The reason; here in Norway spring is arriving slowly and the birds are singing and some bushes show sighs of them being ready to burst into green BUT all in all 99 % of the colours are browns and greys on the ground still with a tiny tussilago farfara here and there on the road side. So this is a spring landscape just waiting to burst into greens again. I might go wild on the greens during Easter LOL
