In a stone quarry nearby there is a stone I want for my garden. I want it as a zen sitting stone. :-)

As a new year starts time has come to once again try to work hard on getting slimer and fitter. The road towards mental and physical health is one where you can get some help and sometimes you have someone walking parts of the road with you BUT most of the way you are alone.

At work things are very busy these days with the end of term tests starting on Monday and we are all running around harassing the poor students to make them as prepared as possible. Tonight I have put the finishing touches on the 9th graders tests for Norwegian. We are trying out a new way of doing it more in line with the new curriculums and evaluation demands. It will be exiting to see whether this works better than the traditional ones.

In between the test days my co class teacher and I thought we would have a nice day in between so next Thursday, weather permitting, we will have a day out with sausage grilling and games. Our 9th grade team tries to find a way to get outdoors once a month but we do not always succeed. This is due to too many children and teenagers spending too much time in front og the tv and computer games and thus getting too little physical activity and schools trying to even that out a tad.

Tonight my student daughter is at a late halloween party, and the local newspaper has some wonderful photos from my school's party last Friday. Today's sketch is inspired of earlier times disco parties.

My son has the flu. When the grown up children living away from home are ill, in my heart I would like to have the same control I had when they were tiny

Yesterday we had snow in the area in the morning. Later it all turned into rain which have been coming down since. I am not ready mentally for winter and all its challenges. Gone are the times when I enjoyed playing in the snow. Today's painting is a sketch I might colour with watercolours. I have not decided yet. I kind of like black and white illlustrations too. If so I will repost it

No less than 7 paintings in the exhibition and 1 through online sales on Dailypainters this weekend in addition to a stack of my books. Wow. Not to mention all the wonderful words people gave me on my paintings and poems and books.

Now I only long for a quiet evening without anywhere to go or anything to do. THAT is not possible for a long time. Lots of things going on at work teh coming weeks which includes parent teacher conferances after work several days as well as me having to help organize the Halloweenparty with the student council this Friday etc etc. Yepp - no lack of duties in the days to come.

Winter has arrived to some parts of Norway so todays owl cartoon celebrates that fact even though I personally hope snow stays away from my part until Christmas. Me I am very happy that today has had a lovely weather.

I am happy to tell you about my visit to the doctor today. Two shots, painkiller and cortisone to kill the infection in my upper arm which turned for the worse during the night. Now I only need to follow up with physiotherapy and a visit to an osteopath as well as antiinflammatory meds. I feel more positive now, but I must admit a a couple of negative winterly thoughts today due to the arm and the car which is still not at the garage. Hopefully tomorrow will give me a solution to that challenge.
