SNOWING SNOWING SNOWING and there will be more this week.
There are people around that are masters of playing others, using whatever means to make people do what they want. That is what inspired this painting. At some point it is totally impossible to tell where the play part starts and the genuin person ends.

In many ways me painting and writing has has a kind of terapeutic effect - it has unlocked parts of me that I did not know was there or helped me sort out some things.
I think expressionistic art is very suitable both for the painter as well as the viewers who wants art to be more thought provoking and not only decorative. As usual feel free to interprete the painting as you like. Its meaning is created in the meeting between you and the painting in that particular context.

I had planned to do some oils this weekend but somehow my muse made me do some abstracts showing emotions instead in blues. Well well, as usual I do go where my muse tells me to go. When the time is right she will lead me to the sunsets in oil that I want to do hehehehe.
My health has not been optimal these last weeks so I do think it is time for me to get my metabolism meds adjusted again. I do want some weeks with lots of excess energy now. Well, one can wish. Anyway, in only a week I have a week worth of winter holiday and then I can get a proper resting period and get a bunch of stuff taken care of.

Today has been Mother's Day here in Norway so today I chose to present a painting about motherhood. This month it is 20 and 21 years since I gave birth to my two children, so it is mother's month for me. Next weekend my daughter will come home and we will celebrate both her birthday as well as mother's day then together.
I also invite you to see my adorable great niece Signe Kristine who was born just before Christmas. Here is a blog where she is shown.

I am working on a new bookproject this weekend. Working title is for now The Book and Me. One of the things I teach is Religious studies and the old texts and stories and their history inspire me in so many ways.
This sketch is one I did at the Literacy seminar this week and I find it suitable since the word Bible comes from the word for library.

I have just returned after having been on a seminar for my job as a teacher for two long days. Theme: reading strategies. As is normal sometimes, people do doodle or sketch in situations like this, and so did I. My collegue ended up folding her napkin in the last hour hehehehe.

I had a lovely inquiry today about two of my paintings. I am very grateful for that because that might be the push I needed to get out my oils again :-). I have so many lovely sunsets and sunrise photos from this winter. It would be a big shame not to use them as reference photos. I hope to get strated this weekend. Cross your fingers for me.
