Today I have had a very blue Monday. Feeling off and tired and not motivated at all. In the end I managed to postpone doing neccessary work for so long so I have now at nearly 1. a.m just finished preparing for tomorrow which will be a very hectic day. i cross my fingers that I will wake up very bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow and that it will last approximately 11-12 hours until my duties are done.

Today I got the shed tidied up enough for me to find room for all the jugs and stuff I have kept flowers in this summer as well as the mower. I also started on the leaves. Tomorrow will be another day working outdoors, I think.
I also did some editing on my first batch of poems and I must admit I ended up quite happy with them. I do wonder however hwether othes will like them. Some day soon I will need to brave myself up and gets omeone to read them.
As for painting, my pink breast cancer supporting ladies continues.

This is a weekend of extreme weather here in Norway. I am lucky to live inland so we do not have the strong storm bother us here much. Bodoe where I come from is hit fairly hard tonight but we're used to it up there.
But anyway it has been a day to stay indoors and write and then write more and listen to the rain hit the roof and watch the wind play with the leaves. The texts will not be posted here simply because they are in Norwegian. Whether I will be able to bring it all together in my book idea I do not know but I did found a good and serious advice service today so maybe I'll splash out on that as a Christmas gift for myself this year. I do need however to work lots more untill New year before it all is ready for the first read through by somebody else.

I can't wait to enjoy this weekend. :-) I have some lovely poetry books that I am sure will bring me joy and plans for paintings as well as writings. The house is reasonably tidy and clean and I am ajour with my grading and planning as a teacher, so basically this can be a lovely creative weekend.
I just finished reading an amazing poetry book "prone" by an Irish lady, Joan Newmann. It is about her time in hospital after an accident 35 years ago. It totally grabbed me so it is highly recommended.

Today's painting is inspired by a beautiful Swedish song with lyrics that I have loved my entire life. By the way I am Norwegian but Swedish is a similar language. I added the lyrics in Engslish and German too, as well as the notes to make it possible for more people to enjoy its beauty. I hope you like it, If you would like to hear the melody or see more translations please then click here.

The original Swedish song
Vem kan segla förutan vind?
Vem kan ro utan åror?
Vem kan skiljas från vännen sin
utan att fälla tårar?
Jag kan segla förutan vind,
jag kan ro utan åror,
men ej skiljas från vännen min
utan att fälla tårar.
English version
Who can sail without the wind,
Who can row without an oar,
Who can leave behind a friend,
Without just one tear to pour?
I can sail without the wind,
I can row without an oar,
But I cannot leave a friend,
Without just one tear to pour.
German version
Wer kann segeln ohne Brisen,
Wer kann rudern ohne Blatt,
Wer kann, ohne Trän' vergießen,
Freund verlassen, den er hatt'?
Ich kann segeln ohne Brisen,
Ich kann rudern ohne Blatt,
Doch nicht, ohne Trän' vergießen,
Freund verlassen, den ich hatt'!

Today I have had a lovely quiet day, the kind that helps bring balance to mind and soul. That has been lovely because I have had quite a few days these last weeks where my joints have ached quite a bit. I sometimes get so frustrated by it, not so much the pain but more the fact that there are so many things that I can not do especially in the garden without risking several days with heavy pains.
I have found that when I am in the grip of my emotions I am no less childish than a small child and that is why I chose to combine the adult body with a very typical small child tantrum pose.

And then my autumn break starts. :-). My plans are to get started on my bookproject properly and work real hard on it for ten days. I have quite a bit of material half finished all kinds of places hehehe. I'll keep you posted about how this personal 10 days challenge goes.
Today my painting is one I did for fun, kind of making fun of myself and all my reading as well as my dream of making a book myself. The great thing these days is that one does not need publishers due to print on demand services. I will do my book - how does not matter that much because I do it for myself.

I have really started the countdown now as the Autumn break is getting closer. Now I only have one more day at work before it starts.
I did not end up travelling and painting in Italy for a week. The class I wanted to join was full. So it is back to plan A which is a combination of physical training and working on my manuscript "one can think about so many things" which sound better in Norwegian LOL. I managed to do around 700 words tonight which I am very happy about. My goal is to write 6 hours per day for 10 days. Only timje will tell if my goal will be reached. Too often the air kind of gous out of the baloon as soon as the body and mind realise that it is a holiday.
I also hope to continue my work on developing my character. I do have a couple of promisisng sketches. Today's painting could be considered one idea.
