In these modern times I think many get so used to being entertained that we often do not start doing something but end up just waiting for something to happen or someone to entertain us.

To me this painting indicates by the space between the individuals and by their lack of conversation, despite being bored, the lack of friendliness and willingness to get acquainted with someone not very well known or new that exists in our society.
