In the spring and summer of 2008 I had the great pleasure of discovering a world around me that one way or another had slipped past me for many years. Armed with a single digital camera I went looking for all that was small and vibrant. My hope is that these small images in this little book will remind more people of the breathtaking scenery and life forms we have around us. In many of the texts, I have sought to create a content that can be understood in both a concrete and abstract way. Nevertheless, I would like to emphasize that my desire is that any reader should feel completely free to enjoy and interpret the pictures and texts quite freely

I have now for a couple of days had a Time-Out, getting some distance to my painting trying to get some idea where I want to go. This far I think my main focus this spring will be works that will be illustrations for my poems which means that I will continue using a monochrome style and express thoughs and emotions in a way that will work nearly equally well in black and white.

Today we again had to start our mornings by showelling snow off our cars. Even the kids are totally fed up with snow now. They have had a week starting to play with balls outside in the school yard and thinking about bringing out bicycles so this new snow was not welcomed at all.

So happy that finally my headache has nearly all gone away. My eyes still are not good but I hope they too will be Ok in a couple of days more. If not I will need to see an eye specialist for sure. I still have problems when trying to focus on small fonts whether on paper or on a screen so grading is a big problem right now. I had began to get a bit scared since my problems lasted soooo long and was so intense.

Tomorrow all school will be going to an alpine senter at Gautefall where some will be skiing, others snowboarding, some do slalom etc etc. so yesterday's painting ended up being very suitable.
Me I do not dare ski from the high places in full speed.
Some other news, I got an inquiry today from a US university asking whether they could use one of my works on their art awards invitation in May. Of course I said yes and felt honored :-). If it all works out that way, I will post the invitation here.

As I have told you we have had so much snow here this year. Most of the adults are getting pretty fed up after having had to shovel snow off roofs and things like that but fortunately there are some who love it - the more the better. One of these groups are the snowboarders. They inspired today's painting. I am quite satisfied with the dynamic feel of this work especially when seen from some distance. That is one of the problems with showing abstract work on a screen like this. The viewer gets a bit too close to the work to get the proper visual.

Celebrating the International Woman's day. Life is very hard for many women around the globe.
Today it is the 8th of March - The international women's day. One of the most important issues for the majority of women in the world today is connected with women's health issues in connection with pregnancies and giving birth.
How lucky I was 20 years ago on the 24st of Febr 1989 when I gave birth to my son, living in Norway where women and babies has such health service advantages.
With this I wish you all a wonderful Women's day.

Abstract Fantasy in Blue and White I, acrylics on paper 16x22cm
0 comments Posted by Trine at 12:52 amToday has been quite horrible. Spent all day at work with sunglasses on due to the headache and my problems handling light. Could not read properly and regularly had blurring of the vision. less than half of the teachers were there today due to the rest being away in connetion with reorganization etc etc. and I was in charge as well so going home really was not an option. It was a very long day.
Finally late tonight I could again handle sound and light fairly normally again. What a relief.

I have been struggling the last two months with headache due to my eyesight. Today it has been hard keeping my spirits up since I had planned on getting lots done but computerwork was not good today. Just writing this triggers a worstening, so this will be this short.

I am at present working with drawings where I use lines as the basic carrier for the expressions. Some will be more abstract than others. Many will to some extent be expreesionistic and be drawn hoping they will be used in my book project "Me and You" which is still in a fairly early stage. I will probably need many many drawings and paintings because I need to be able to use only a part of them.
I am pretty sure I will use this one though because it has an expressive value that I am quite happy about.
