Welcome to my journey exploring art, In 2010 you also saw me on hikes in wonderful nature. In 2011-13 I did not paint much, but made items using my art. In 2014 I will again try to be a daily art maker.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate every comment I get. I so look forward to a weekend of painting. I have lots of ideas going around my head at present
The first thought that occurred to me when I saw this painting was a question: How much, if any, of the ice is thick enough to hold a polar bear? Since I live on the West Coast of the United States, ice is not part of my experience. I am extremely concerned about the way that polar bears have been drowning recently because of global warming resulting in thin ice, so I do not think that the question that occurred to me is an unusual one.
I love this painting! It is my favorite of the artist's blue on blue paintings and one of my general favorites of her works, as well. I love the way that the artist has contrasted the solid, rugged, mountainous land that is across a body of water, probably the ocean, from translucent ice that has frozen into beautiful, ring decorated, stair step layers on the water's surface. These beautiful "stair steps" make me wonder how much weight each step can hold. As a result, besides beauty, I am also given questions.
Maybe paint some "warmer" scenes! lol Glad you feeling better. Me too.
ReplyDeleteyep LOL probably about time to do that. I think I had a period about this time of year last year when I did a series of "warm" paintings.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been more rain than snow though this winter SIGH.
Really nice one today, Trine! Thanks for sharing... Paint on!

I am so happy that you liked it. This is a theme that I will probably come back to more times during this winter and spring.
