These days my sketches are very bad but remembering from earlier times I do know that one day it will loosen up and everything will come together. I think I am too unfocused these days - tired and also a bit grumphy from the autumn rain and rain and more rain. Nevertheless, as promised in the intro you will also get to see my failures and here are today's failures.

I had another purchase inquiry today - this time for the figure study in charcoal. I am still amazed by the interest in my sketches and studies.

Some days everything works out right and some days they don't. Today the rain prevented me from painting my house and also my sketching in ink, practicing animal shapes - trying to simplefy the shapes DID NOT WORK AT ALL. Well, I promised I would also show my bad ones and these are BAD. LOL.

The good news today was that another one of my early sketches from June had a purchase enquiry today so you never know what might happen.

Today I practiced chinese brush painting and thought it could be neat to use blur ink for a blue heron study. Here are the results . the one in the middle is my favourite.

For the last two years I have been wanting to develope a kind of signature figure but I have not managed to make it yet. This is a fresh sketch in acrylics that might be the start of a character. For now I do not know - only time will tell whether this one and crazy bird can be the start of something.

Was home from work today, not feeling well; headache and fever. LOL No wonder most of today's painting was black. I also added two more of my figure studies in blue ink. They are not very good but hopefully you will see improvement during the coming year.

This weekend I have had a bit too little time for painting. My windows are nearly 60 years old and desperately need to be fixed and repainted. My mum will visit next week and she is an expert in this but her wrists wil not allow her to do the sanding down part so that is what I have been doing with 12 window frames this weekend. My shoulder ache :-(( but it will be lovely to get them done before the winter. I'll probably spray some foam on the sides for insulance as well. Unfortunately the worst part will be the otsides because parts are dropping off, well they are OLD. I'll probably have to get new double glazing windows for the entire house very soon but for now I need them to survive another year at least while I decide what kind of new windows I want and find a way to finance it. Very expensive.
Figure study in blue ink on shuen paper a bit larger than A4.

This one left tonight with one of my collegues who visited. First we took a long walk in the area in the near darkness and afterwards we just sat here enjoying life and talked. I asked her which ones of my latest works I should invest in proper framing for and let me tell you - it will be expensive LOL. I am very happy that she found so many worth the expense.
This one she herself fell for.

Some days I end up making kind of childish paintings. LOL Maybe because I stopped drawing and painting at a very young age so that I have a bit of catching up to do.
Anyway, here are "Crazy Bird" and "Contemptous Dinosaur" - both painted this week. Both acrylics on acid free paper 27x35cm. I hope you enjoy them. Crazy Bird is notf or sale, 19th Bday for my son but Contemtous Dinosaur is available for $30 p&p included.

This weekend I have been very productive. I have painted on my house walls and taken down the scaffolding and delived it. Fortunetely I have also found time to paint artistically and here is the other version of a painting within the theme femininity. This one is not nicely looking like the one I showed you yesterday but I do hope it carries some meaning for you and gives you some thoughts.

The Difficult Femininity,

I have done two totally different images commenting on the role of females. This is the "nice" timid, traditional version. For the other very different painting you must visit tomorrow. Most people will probably only like one of them.
